This page explains how this portfolio collects and uses visitor data. It is maintained by Peter McPhail as a courtesy to visitors and is not a legal certification or third-party audit report.
This site uses analytics to understand how visitors interact with the portfolio so I can improve the experience. The analytics service may record anonymous interactions such as page views, clicks, scrolls, mouse movements, and session replays. Personal information such as names, passwords, or payment details are not collected through this site.
I use Microsoft Clarity for behavioral analytics and session insights. Clarity processes data on Microsoft's infrastructure and is bound by its own terms and privacy practices. I do not sell visitor data to third parties.
When you first visit, a cookie banner asks whether you consent to analytics cookies. If you accept, Clarity is allowed to set analytics cookies and begin recording. If you decline, analytics cookies remain disabled. You can change your preference at any time by clearing site cookies in your browser; the banner will then appear again on your next visit.
You can decline analytics cookies through the banner, use your browser's cookie settings, or install a browser extension that blocks analytics and tracking scripts. Some browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" signal; this site does not independently respond to that signal, but the cookie consent banner still lets you choose.
Analytics data is retained by the analytics provider according to their standard retention policies. I do not maintain a separate copy of visitor analytics data on this site.
